Description
Description
The photo on your phone. The print still in its envelope. The card you kept. This violet picture frame is how they finally reach the wall. It holds an 8x10 in | 20x25 cm photo, print, or artwork, and it arrives ready to hang.
The profile is 0.6 in | 1.5 cm wide and 0.8 in | 2 cm deep, made from painted solid wood, not plastic. The finish is a rich, even violet. The front is glass-clear acrylic, 1.5 mm thick: lighter than glass, shatter-resistant, and just as clear.
Your 8x10 in print fits edge to edge, with no trimming needed. Dual hangers on the back let you hang it in portrait or landscape.
Hanging is simple. The hangers work with a nail or screw. To skip drilling, two small adhesive strips rated for 4 lbs | 1.8 kg are enough to hold this frame.
Every size in our line shares the same clean profile, so mixed sizes line up cleanly on a gallery wall.
Good things deserve a frame.

Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing & fit
What size picture frame do I need for my print?
What size picture frame do I need for my print?
Match your print to the frame's listed size, which is the inner opening where your print sits. A 5x7 in print fits a 5x7 in frame, an A4 print fits an A4 frame, and a 40x60 cm print fits a 40x60 cm frame. The exact outer measurements are in the specifications on this page.
Do the sizes refer to the frame or the print?
Do the sizes refer to the frame or the print?
The size shown, like 40x60 cm, is the inner opening: the visible print area. The frame itself extends a little beyond that. Exact outer dimensions are listed in the specifications on this page.
The frame
Are the frames glass or acrylic?
Are the frames glass or acrylic?
Acrylic. It's crystal clear like glass but lighter and shatter-resistant, so it's safer around kids and pets and travels well to your door. Thickness runs from 1.5 mm on smaller frames to 2 mm on the larger sizes.
Acrylic or glass: is acrylic as good as glass?
Acrylic or glass: is acrylic as good as glass?
Better, for the way you actually live with it. Our crystal-clear acrylic is lighter than glass, shatter-resistant, and true to color with no green tint. It hangs safely around kids and pets, and it arrives without the breakage risk of shipping glass.
Why does the acrylic look cloudy or tinted?
Why does the acrylic look cloudy or tinted?
That's the protective peel-off film, not the acrylic. Every frame ships with film on both sides of the acrylic plus shrinkwrap around the frame. Once you're sure you're keeping it, peel the film from both sides and the acrylic underneath is crystal clear. If there's any chance you'll return the frame, leave both layers on to protect your full refund.
What are the frames made of?
What are the frames made of?
Solid wood with a shatter-resistant acrylic front and a sturdy backing board. The oak frames (natural, dark, black, and white) are solid oak: natural oak is unstained and unpainted, dark oak is stained, and black and white are painted. Our color frames are solid maple with a smooth water-based lacquer finish. All the wood comes from responsibly managed forests. Because natural oak is bare wood, its tone varies a little from frame to frame and batch to batch. That's real wood, not a defect.
What's the difference between the oak finishes?
What's the difference between the oak finishes?
Natural oak is left unstained and unpainted, so you see the real grain and a tone that varies a little between frames. Dark oak is the same wood with a rich stain. Black and white frames are painted for a clean, solid color. All four are made from the same solid wood.
Setting up your frame
Is a print included with the frame?
Is a print included with the frame?
No, Framelane sells frames only. Prints, posters, and art aren't included. Pick a frame size that matches a print you already have or plan to buy, like an A3 frame for an A3 print.
How do I put my print in the frame?
How do I put my print in the frame?
Unlatch the small clips on the back, remove the backing, peel the protective film from both sides of the acrylic, place your print face down against the acrylic, then reattach the backing and clips. It takes about a minute, no tools needed.
Do the frames arrive ready to hang?
Do the frames arrive ready to hang?
Yes. Every frame comes fully assembled with the hangers already attached, so it goes straight onto your wall. There's also room behind the acrylic to hold up to four prints or a single poster, so you can layer spares or swap your art whenever you like.
How do I hang the frame?
How do I hang the frame?
Each frame has hangers on the back, so you can hang it vertically or horizontally. A nail or screw works for most walls; on drywall, add a plastic anchor. Prefer not to drill? Adhesive wall strips rated for the frame's weight hold these frames well too. See the back-of-frame photos on this page for the hanger layout.
How do I clean the acrylic?
How do I clean the acrylic?
Blow off loose dust first, since dust can scratch the acrylic if you rub it in. Then wipe gently with a soft, lightly damp microfiber cloth. Skip glass cleaners, ammonia, and paper towels, which can cloud or scratch the surface.
